BioPronBet2 and KTN Round Table Event

During January 2023, Fiona, a 4th year PhD student in the CDT for Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies, attended the BioPronBet2 and KTN round table event at the University of Manchester, focussing on "Formulation, quality and delivery of tomorrow's medicines".

Fiona presented two posters titled "The rational design of microneedles for the transdermal delivery of insulin for T1DM", and "Polymer-coated nanocrystal-loaded microneedles for localised drug delivery to glioblastoma surgical resection sites", and was offered the opportunity to giver an elevator-style presentation on the latter.

The event hosted several talks from both industry and academia along with two break-out sessions focussing on the drawback and benefits of aggregation and challenges around analytics for new drug modalities.

Fiona was awarded a prize, sponsored by FujiFilm Diosynth, for the best elevator-pitch from a submitted poster.
