PhD Project Generation Event
The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies held its first PhD project generation event at the University of Nottingham to create PhD project ideas for the first cohort of UK based students. We hosted 118 attendees – scientists, students, CDT affiliates and facilitators - from the University of Nottingham, UCL, SSPC and our industry partners.
The aim of the PhD project generation event was to facilitate interaction across disciplines and departments at Nottingham, UCL and the industry partners that lead to innovative ideas that can tackle current challenges in the pharmaceutical sector. The event started with an informal networking evening that was followed by the main event focusing on the scientific aspects of the process.

The students took part in the discussions to generate their PhD projects. Fom left to right: Front row Emma Bastin, Freddie Gough, Fiona Smith, Laura McCoubrey, Nour Allaham, Ryan Trueman, Savvas Dimiou; back row Henry Wallace, Toby King, Benjamin Fiedler, Sam Ackerley and Omar Mokrane
