First cohort of CDT in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies students 2019

The CDT welcomed 15 students, of whom six each are based at the Schools of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham and UCL and three in Ireland with the Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC), based at Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and the University College Cork.

The students had a busy start to the programme and met for a week of training at UCL focussing on professional development including being a reflective practitioner, fundamental research skills, team work and high-functioning working relationships. The following week, training commenced at the University of Nottingham, focussing on Medicines as complex products with lectures, case studies and intensive team work. The students also attended Day 1 of the Autumn Colloquium to meet the students of the CDT in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines.

Irish-based students have now started with their PhD research whilst UK-based students have commenced with their first research training project.

The next training week will be held on 13-17 January 2020 at the University of Nottingham.
