CDT accreditation

The training programme for the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies has been accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Royal Society of Biology (RSB) and Institute of Physics (IoP) from January 2021 to 2025. The accreditation involved mapping the activities in the CDT programme to criteria for obtaining registered scientist and chartered status with all three societies.

The CDT is a partnership between the Schools of Pharmacy at  the University of Nottingham and  University College London and the SSPC, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Pharmaceuticals. The CDT is funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Council and Science Foundation Ireland and a number of industry partners.

This will be the first CDT to be accredited by all three societies and a significant achievement for the CDT training team (Professor Gareth Williams, Professor Snow Stolnik, Dr Mischa Zelzer, Dr Stefan Guldin, Professor Simon Gaisford, Professor Anne Marie Healy Dr Steven Ferguson and Dr Maria Marlow). The CDT training team were supported in their journey to accreditation, particularly by Jonelle Harvey (RSC), Rosie Clear Hill (RSB) and Amy Pearce (IoP) and are looking forward to working with the societies in supporting CDT students in their own journeys to chartered status.
