General information on applying

We open up applications to the CDT in November each year with a deadline of early February.  All students start the programme in September. To apply you will need to complete our online application form, which includes statements on your motivations for applying to the CDT and how your previous skills and experience have prepared you for a PhD in this research area.

Our panel of academics will consider all applications and those successful at the application stage will be shortlisted for an interview.  Interviews usually take place in February/March.  You will be told when to expect a final decision on the outcome at interview.

All communications, such as invites to interview and outcomes of your application, will be sent via email. We aim to communicate decisions as soon as possible, but please bear in mind that we receive a high volume of applications and processing these can take some time.
