Laura McCoubrey delivers APS webinar 

CDT student in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies, Laura McCoubrey, alongside two of our students from the CDT in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines - Neel Desai and Francesca Gavins - delivered webinars for the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) Focus Group in Ageing during the Autumn Semester. Laura's talk, 'Ameliorating the gut microbiome for longevity and healthy ageing' focused on how pharmaceutical technology can be harnessed to prevent and treat diseases of old age by restoring gut microbiome health. Neel's talk was entitled 'Mind the gap between the design and administration of oral medicines for older people'. Francesca's talk was entitled 'The ageing gut: biopharmaceutical considerations' and spoke about COVID-19 in the ageing population and gut, biopharmaceutical changes occurring in the ageing gut, detecting ageing and geroprotectors.

The audience was a mixture of industrialists, academics, PhD students and pharmacy students. Recordings of the talks are available on the APS members hub.
